Director of School

Dr. Theresa Hopkins

Dr. Hopkins, now in her third year at TGA, will serve as the academy's director of school. As director, she will oversee the academy's day-to-day operations, supervising the teaching and housing staffs, ensuring that TGA continues to mold students into tomorrow's top scientists, engineers and mathematicians.

Dr. Hopkins has over 13 years of secondary teaching experience. For the last two years she has been the lead teacher at TGA, teaching Calculus, Differential Equations and Matrix Algebra. Reluctant to leave the classroom, Dr. Hopkins will be teaching a course on Problem Solving and Scientific Research to this year's Junior Class.

Dr. Hopkins holds a doctorate in mathematics education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville along with both master's and bachelor's degrees from UT.
